Aul Pakir J. Abdul Kalam, commonly known as A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, was the 11th President of India from 2002-2007. Often referred to as the People's President, he was a key figure in India's acquisition of nuclear status on the world stage. He is also known as the "Missile Man of India" for his contributions in the development of ballistic missiles and space rocket technology.
The previous year, people noticed the presence of condolence messages about the death of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam on banners displayed at cafes and rickshaws. The shop owners were initially shocked to see his figure and message. In a country where there are only common people and women, what is it about the current president that makes people shower him with love and affection? This is not a politically motivated issue as Kalam is not a political figure. This person touched everyone's hearts in a significant and profound way. This was during his 3rd visit to Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong on July 27, 2015. A former president and famous scientist dropped by while giving an address to the students.
A lasting impression was left on the minds of thousands of Indians by our "People's President" late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Few prominent public figures in the history of our country have been able to create such a profound impact even after their death. The name of this spiritual person is a powerful sign for all the people who are determined to succeed in our country. He was always comfortable talking to people in person rather than using the Internet or electronic media. He has no understanding of security and protocol. He loves spending time with students from various schools, colleges and universities, connecting with students and inspiring them to become better citizens as they reach adulthood.
There are many stories of people who worked on the man's side, deeply moved by his genuine love, compassion and kindness. Once, during a very tight deadline to start a project, the scientist under his supervision asked for an early break to bring his son to the show. He was engrossed in his work and the deadline was delayed by three hours when the scientist realized that the father was not fulfilling his duties. After returning to his home, he feels guilty. He was shocked as his son was not at home. Instead he was on his show. Realizing that the scientist would not abandon his work, Dr. Kalam decided to honor his father's promise to the young man by personally inviting him to the exhibition. It is clear how important his men are to him. Because it is men who make or break an organization.
Small incidents like refusing to sit in a chair given to him at a conference at IIT Varanasi because its dimensions were larger than other chairs are proof of his belief in the concept of equality. Thanks to the young man who portrayed his character from "Wings of Fire", his novel "Wings of Fire" describes how polite it is to thank everyone for his positive and good deed.
He is one of the most respected men in the United States, best known as a leader, scientist, and president of our society. After his tenure as President, Kalam visited various reverend institutions and universities in India as a visiting professor. A child's heart was nurtured and loved in the humble background of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Born in a poor family, Kalam knew the need to finance his studies by any means possible. From an early age, Kalam started earning income for himself and his family by selling newspapers. But, money was never the reason to keep him away from education. A constant quest for knowledge made him complete his studies successfully. In Madras, after completing his aerospace engineering studies from the Institute of Technology, Madras, where he graduated in 1960, he joined DRDO or the Aeronautical Development of the Defense Research and Development Organization Joined the establishment as a scientist.

He is the one who made our country nuclear in the most authentic sense. India conducted its first nuclear test in 1974 under the leadership of Dr. Kalam. Then came Pokhran-II in 1988. Achievements and Awards –
For his work he received three prestigious awards from the Govt. of India including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna. In 1997, Kalam received the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration. Kalam was also awarded the Veer Savarkar Prize in 1980 and the Ramanujan Award in 2000. Kalam has received honorary doctorates from 40 universities around the world.
