8. Kalabhairava Temple :
This ancient temple is one of the most magnificent and longest running temples of Varanasi. The temple is dedicated to the violent and destructive Lord Shiva. Legend has it that Lord Shiva became enraged when the Vedas declared Lord Shiva as the Supreme God, while Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma were angered by it. A fight resulted in Lord Brahma's head exploding and later Lord Shiva was carried away by the fiery light from the "call". Then Kali turned up with a severed head. His head fell in Varanasi and he was able to return after losing his sins. Like other temples, alcohol is offered to the God and Swami in this temple. This Kalabhairava temple in Varanasi is believed to have been built in the 17th century AD. It is believed to solve every problem of its devotees.
