1. Lohri :

This celebration takes place on Makar Sankranti. The celebration is held in Connaught Place, on the green spaces and lawns, and above the Palika Bazaar. International visitors are drawn to the celebration.

3. Panchami Basant:


This Hindu celebration marks the arrival of spring following the chilly, wintry days of January and February. The month-long open access to the Mughal Gardens in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan is only granted during this time.

4. Festival of Thyagaraja:


The festival features music and dance from South India. It is held in the surroundings of the Vaikunthanath Temple, home of Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Maha Shivaratri, fifth:


The celebration is held in honour of Lord Shiva, also known as the "Tandava Dance." In Falguna month, it is observed on the night of the new moon. Women chant fasts and offer prayers throughout the night in observance of Lord Shiva's "Tandava Nritya," a massive dance.


March 1 is Maha Shivaratri in 2022.


6. Anniversary of Amir Khusro:


Sufi music and qawwali accompany this anniversary celebration, which is celebrated at the Nizamuddin festival. Rabindra Bhavan also hosts national drama festivals around this time.


April 2022 marks Amir Khusro's anniversary.


7. Bhai Dogra:


The Hindu New Year is celebrated with this festivity. During the summer, people celebrate it to signal the start of harvest season.


14 April 2022 is Baisakhi.


8. Birthday of Buddha:


This event honours the spot where Buddha was born. In the month of May, it happens on the first night of the full moon. There are various locations where prayers are offered, including Mandir Marg, Ring Road, and Buddha Vihar. This festival commemorates the realisation of Lord Buddha's enlightenment and salvation in addition to his birthday and the birthdays of his followers.


May 16 is Buddha Jayanti in 2022.



9. Jayanti Mahavir:



This event honours Lord Mahavir's birth anniversary. It is a Jain festival, and prayer sessions are organised at different locations.


April 14 is Mahavir Jayanti in 2022.



10. Global Mango Celebration:


More than 500 desi mangoes are on display throughout the festival. The Talkatora Stadium will host their performances. Travellers from both domestic and foreign countries love it because they may enjoy the event and try the mangoes.


July 22, 2022, is the International Mango Festival.




11. Cyre of Folkwallon-ki:


Mehrauli and this festival are comparable. Originally introduced in the sixteenth century, it is a parade of flower vendors. In early October, it takes place. Fans with floral decorations are carried by participants in the benediction parade at the Khwaja Utb-ud-Din Bakhtiar Kaki Temple. a saint and Sufi from the thirteenth century. In Mehrauli, he also constructed the Hindu temple Jogmaya. A ceremonial ceremony is held at Jahaj Mahal to conclude the procession.


Oct. 2022 is Folkwalon-ki-Sire.



12. Qutb Festival:



On the grounds of this historical monument dating back to the 12th century, the Qutub Minar is danced and sang during the festival. The Delhi Tourism organisation hosts this festival annually for the benefit of visitors.


November–December, 2022 is Qutub Festival.



13. Purab Guru:



The occasion of this festival is Guru Nanak's birthday. The first of the 10 Sikh Gurus was Guru Nanak. Nagar kirtans parade through the streets of gurdwaras to commemorate the occasion. Grantees read aloud from the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred text of the Sikhs.


November 8, 2022 is Guru Purab.
