The most beautiful union territory of India is located on the shores of Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, also known as Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The two islands together comprise the entire area. Andaman Island is in the north and Nicobar is in the south, where the Bay of Bengal flows mainly on the western side of the island. The Andaman Sea, which separates Burma and Thailand from the Nicobar Islands, preserves the Northern Hemisphere.

As a major source of income as a tourist destination, these natives of their cultures are friendly towards non-local celebrations, perhaps the reason why New Year and Christmas are celebrated with so much fun and laughter. Their culture is a mash-up of all Indian festivals when it comes to traditional holidays. The first thing that comes to mind is Durga Puja.


People know about this festival everywhere in India. The splendor or magnificence of this celebration is something to behold. Like other cities in India, Andaman Nicobar locals dress up in their best and marvel at the Durga Puja.


Next to consider is Janmashtami, the day of Lord Krishna. Houses are decorated and women enter the kitchen, prepare mouth-watering food and perform short plays or any other occasion as part of the entertainment. Some people of the tribe celebrate Pongal, which is a harvest festival, while others celebrate Panguni Uthiram, which caters to Tamil needs. There are also traditional Bengali celebrations like Eid, Ramnavami, Holi Diwali, Shivratri and Diwali.
