Robber's Cave wonders in their details


Robbers Cave, a state park, is located in the scenic Sans Bois Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma. It was formerly known as Latimer State Park. It got its present name in 1936. It is favored by hikers, horse riders and strollers. The park is spread over 8000 acres including the adjacent wildlife management area. Three lakes are available for trout fishing during the season. The lake also offers boating opportunities. There are many other activities including hunting, mountain biking and trails for hikers or horses. The park has plenty of visitors to climb and rappel along the sandstone cliffs and view the falling leaves.

History of Robbers Park:


It was once a hunting ground thousands of years ago. The people related to the builders of Spiro Mounds were the first inhabitants. After the Civil War, many outlaws were housed here, including Belle Starr and Jesse James.


Get in touch with nature:


Roberts Cave is a great place to spend time with nature. The beautiful setting of the park is ideal for relaxing the mind, body and soul. The park is a great place to learn about birds, butterflies and trees.


Robber Caves Lake:


Park - Lake Carlton and Lake Wayne Wallace join Coon Creek Lake. These lakes are formed from dams built over a stream. Lake Carlton, pictured below, is available for boating and boat rentals.


Robbers Cave Fall Festival:

In 1987, the first Roberts Cave Fall Festival was established. The annual festival lasts three days and features handmade arts and crafts from more than 200 vendors. There are also carnival rides and games along with stalls selling delicious food and drinks. On Saturday, the Fall Foliage Cruise will feature hundreds of restored and customized classic cars. It is an enjoyable day for both children and adults.


Camp at Roberts Cave:

Roberts Cave State Park has a variety of camping options, from RV sites to primitive tent sites to equestrian campsites. Paths through the woods offer stunning views of a small valley.


Accommodation Facilities:

Roberts Cave State Park has 26 lodging cabins. One of these cabins is named Belle Star View Lodge in honor of the infamous Belle Star. The lodge offers 20 rooms and a meeting area and a beautiful view of Coon Creek Lake. Each room in the lodge sleeps four and has double beds. Pets are welcome in the park and some of the cabins.


Hiking Routes:


Hikers can choose from a number of routes at Wilburton's Robbers Cave State Park. Offering hiking routes that provide spectacular views of the San Bois Mountains, it's an ideal location for equestrians.

In Oklahoma, Robbers Cave State Park is a fantastic destination for families. All the amenities you require are there, such as a kid-friendly playground, a miniature golf course, horseback riding stables, a small grocery store, an on-site restaurant, a nature centre, picnic tables, and cottages. Because of all of its amenities, it is a well-liked tourist destination.


Park Robbers Cave State:

It is not feasible to enter the thieves' den without coming under attack. You can see the cave where infamous criminals like Belle Starr and Jesse James took sanctuary from the authorities. It's not a tough trek to the cave. It is well worth it to see the amazing view from the top of the mountains.
