History Gunadala Matha Shrine:

Italian Missionary was a man held in high esteem among the residents of the village. He obtained 25 acres of barren, bushy land from the Government at the foothill of Gunadala, which was then outside of the town. There he established an orphanage and school.

 

The Gunadala site was partially donated and partly purchased by Msgr. Pezzoni, along with 30 orphans from the Mission School at Bezwada, moved to Gunadala in June 1923. This was the start of many institutions in Gunadala, Vijayawada.

 

Fr.P. Fr.P. Official opening of the orphanage took place on June 15, 1924. He also founded the Industrial School that year.

Holy Mass will be celebrated on February 9th at 6.30am, followed by Adoration at 8.30am.
