The date and time will be released only when the NEET UG answer key is made available by NTA at neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates appearing for the examination must meet the criteria to qualify the examination. NEET eligibility criteria and cut-off are defined. The NEET answer key issued by NTA has expired today.

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, NEET Result 2024 date and time will be released soon. The National Testing Agency, NTA releases the NEET answer keys first. NEET answers will be provided first through neet.nta.nic.ind. After the answer keys are published, the tentative dates for the NEET UG results will also be made public. NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria of NEET depends on the category of candidates. Eligibility criteria for general category is 50th percentile while for reserved categories it is 40th percentile. Among economically backward sections, EWS under General category has cut-off at 50th percentile. Off if PwD (Persons with Disabilities), the criteria for eligibility is 45th percentile. Students are reminded that the 50th percentile is not 50 percent to qualify. 50% mark is equal to 360 marks, while 50th percentile can be up to 120 marks.

A percentile is a ranking based on a positioning system in which the ranking is determined by the grade a student is in. For example, for the 50th percentile, students who score more than half of the students are considered. Qualified. Simply put, if 100 students appear for the exam, the top 50 percent of students (regardless of the number of marks they score) will pass.

A key thing to remember about eligibility criteria is that percentiles are calculated category-wise. So, to qualify for 50th percentile candidates should score more than 50th percentile of applicants for General or Open category. 40th percentile for SC/ST is based on marks obtained by applicants in this category.

With more than 18 lakh candidates appearing for the exam, around 9 lakh students could crack the NEET exam. However, it differs from category to classification based on the number of candidates participating in any category. Eligibility cutoff for NEET 2024 will be declared by NTA along with NEET result.

Note that passing NEET is not a guarantee of admission to MBBS or BDS course. Students who do not clear the NEET exam will not be allotted a seat in the management quota in any medical dental schools across the country.
